4th of July craft

I <3 the 4th of July! I really think it is my favorite holiday. There are no ‘expectations’ like with some of the other holidays, and it is WARM outside! I also love 2x4’s! They are so versatile. When I saw THIS post on How Does She? I knew I had to make it! I actually made it around Memorial Day, so I was able to give it to Princess & Sweetie’s teachers as an end of the year thank you gift. I Mod Podged a piece of paper on the back with a little message for their teachers.

It was super simple to make and I think it turned out so cute!

My First Post!

I have been thinking about this blog for a few months now.  I have finally decided to do it, and now I just need to figure out what to post!   Here are some pictures from my project I did while Hubby was away. (He had some military training in TX for 2 months, so I had to find some way to keep myself busy!)

This was the ‘border’ between our back yard (totally not landscaped) and our front yard (trying very hard to appear landscaped)

All of the supplies.  We weren’t really thinking when this was all delivered – the delivery men ended up putting all of this about 200 feet from where the fence would actually be.  The girls were not happy about hauling lumber all day.IMAG0326Here are my helpers.  Princess and Sweetie were in school all day, so Bug, Berry and Banana ‘helped’ out.  It took me 4 days to get to this point – after digging the holes, setting the posts and then putting up the rails.  HARD WORK!!IMG_7864

Here is one of the few pictures of me.  I decided to do a ‘shadow box’ style fence for wind control.  The winds out here can get to 90 mph and I didn’t want my fence blowing down like the neighbors did.IMG_7866

The final Product!!  It is so nice to have it done Open-mouthed smile
